Lindsey Silfer Ends High School Career On Top

Just in...

Canisius College recruit Lindsey Silfer just ended her high school career by winning the New York State "AA" Championship when her Cicero-N. Syracuse North Stars beat East Meadow 5-0 in Queensbury, NY.

But it was in today's semi-final game vs. Brockport that Lindsey propelled her team to the championship game. In the 4-0 win, she drove home all of CNS's runs, with a home run and bases clearing double. She added an RBI to her total in the Championship game.

In the top of the fourth, Silfer caught up with one of DiMartino’s fastballs and cleared the center-field fence by at least 10 feet, putting the Northstars ahead 1-0.
In the field, O’Hara and Silfer continued to carry Cicero-North Syracuse. O’Hara kept mowing down the Brockport hitters, and Silfer gunned down DiMartino trying to steal second base.
In the top half of the fifth inning, O’Hara drew a walk to load the bases for Silfer. The catcher fouled off nine pitches, and on the 11th pitch of the at-bat from DiMartino, Silfer drilled a fastball off the center-field fence for a three-run double with two outs.

Lindsey will join the Golden Griffins this fall.
